This week we got to pitch our ideas for the umbrella project we have been tasked with completing during our six months in the Develop Carolina program. There are so many great ideas coming out of this exercise and it's going to be exciting to hear progress reports from the fellows week to week!
My project is a mobile app called SkateSpot. This is actually an idea I came up when I was just getting started with programming. I started planning it out and quickly realized that I didn't have the skill or experience at that time to make it happen, and it was kind of discouraging. But now I'm feeling much more confident in myself and my abilities. I also have such a great support system through Develop Carolina and Code/+/Trust. I'm ready to get started!
I'm breaking this 40 hour project into four phases: planning, design, development, and evaluation. Each phase will have milestones and projected hours. We're officially in Phase I! Here's what I have so far:
