This is my my first blog and blog post, and it just felt right to honor the the platform that really got us all here today: AOL.

But I'm really here because I have the awesome opportunity to be a part of the Develop Carolina Fellowship Program, and I'm going to blog about it!

Week one of the program has been an informative and affirming experience. This time last year I could not have imagined being part of something like this. I was still working full-time as an event planner and fundraiser for a nonprofit getting ready to pull off a full week's worth of events that would be crammed into 72 hours while we were all in COVID's sophmore year. It was so crazy that I had no choice but to take a break from studying and practicing programing, prolonging my much anticipated career 180. But now I'm here! As a web developer, for real! What a great feeling.

I'm exciting to blog my experiences and lessons learned. Here's what I'm looking to get out of this:

• Hold myself accountable for completing and understanding each week's learning module.

• Give myself a growth chart to reflect on, especially in the moments I'm feeling insecure.

• Prepare myself to mentor others by capturing the challenges and how I overcame them with the help of my mentors.
